Tocco Lite is a lean, mean social machine

Samsung's Tocco Lite, a pared-down version of the best-selling Tocco, goes on sale today in Ireland, and is Samsung's first touchscreen device to be launched on prepay.

Retailing at €139, the Tocco Lite is the perfect touchscreen device for teens and hipsters. The nice price brings with it the world of touchscreen and always-on mobile social networking.

The online widgets on the Tocco Lite let users refresh their Facebook status at a touch, and log on to Bebo or MySpace page or simply have a browse through YouTube, all directly from the main menu.

There is also tagging and direct uploads to facebook et al from the onboard 3-megapixel camera, which has smile and face detection.

For the fashion-conscious, the Tocco Lite comes in three tasteful colours - black, white and pink.

A few more bits and bobs crammed onto the Tocco Lite - Samsung's DNSe 2.0 (Digital Natural Sound engine) technology makes for high-quality sound, while music recognition and FM radio complete the mix.

For those who remember enough of the native tongue from school, there is also an Irish/English dictionary and predictive text 'as gaeilge'.
