China shuts down hacker training site
08.02.2010

The biggest hacker training site in China, known as the Black Hawk Safety Net, has been shut down while the three individuals running the website have been arrested.
Located in Central China's Hubei province, the training site is suspected of both openly recruiting and training people, as well as distributing viruses and other malicious code and software.
According to China Daily, the site was established in 2005, has more than 12,000 VIP members and almost 200,000 regular members.
It is thought that 50 police officers have been investigating the site since 2007 but no official connection has been made between this organisation and the recent attacks on Google within China.
China Daily alleges that an anonymous member of the hacker site came forward and gave details of the operation to the newspaper: "I could download Trojan programs from the site which allowed me to control other people's computers.
"I did this just for fun but I also know that many other members could make a fortune by attacking other people's accounts," said a 23-year-old member of Black Hawk Safety Net in Nanjing of East China's Jiangsu province.
