Samsung's ST550 kills the MySpace shot

The new ST550 digital compact from Samsung is the world's first camera with a back and front LCD screen and is specifically designed to take the perfect self-portrait without having to resort to the MySpace shot of typically using the bathroom or bedroom mirror.
For starters the LCD back screen of the ST550 has a high resolution 3.5-inch wide touchscreen LCD. It is almost four times the size of many other camera screens, says Samsung, and the touch is via haptic feedback. Fancy!
The front screen is a 1.5-inch LCD and serves as a guide screen for those taking self-portraits or group shots.
Megapixel-wise, this is a 12.2 model and it has a 27-mm wide angle Schneider Kreuznach lens with 4.6x optical zoom.
As with many middle to high-end digital compacts on the market, the ST550 has a HD movie recording mode plus it has smart auto, smart face recognition and dual image stabilisation.
It also has features for taking the perfect self-portrait and is available in black, gold, orange and purple. The ST550 retails at €349.99 (RRP).
