7digital arrives on the Irish Blackberry app store

Digital music download store 7digital has created a new and improved app for the Blackberry smart phone that now allows Irish users of App World to download music straight to their handsets.
The 7digital app, which won first prize at yesterday's Blackberry Developer Conference, is the first-ever Blackberry app to allow direct downloads of MP3s straight to the RIM smart phone.
More than 8 million MP3 tracks
Blackberry users can now browse, search and buy tracks from 7digital.com's catalogue of more than 8 million high-quality DRM-free MP3 tracks from the four major music labels, as well as many independent labels.
Aside from being available to the Ireland store, the 7digital app also lets users search by track, browser My Music by track, add a track to a playing playlist, and has a download location option as well as an auto startup option.
Extra features for touchscreen Blackberry Storm
For those with a touchscreen Blackberry Storm device, the 7digital app has some extra features: users can rotate the display and also have access to an improved My Music touch toolbar.
"The original 7digital BlackBerry application was the first MP3 download app to allow users to download music straight to their device," said Ben Drury, CEO 7digital.
"The latest release, barely a month after the original, refines the app further and shows exactly what can be achieved by combining the 7digital API and one of the world's best mobile devices."
